New Mercies 2017

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness, A.R.C.H., referred a gentleman to CMN who was transitioning from homelessness to a permanent residence. A.R.C.H helped him and his family secure housing and CMN connected with a church who warehouses gently used furniture.  Through their generosity and with the help of Summit Leadership Foundation, CMN picked up the furniture and delivered it to his new home.  As the furniture was unloaded, this gentleman gave praise and glory to God our Father.

This past spring 2017, CMN, with the help of the Church and Summit Leadership, helped two other families move from one location to another: an elderly couple who lost their home of 25 years, and needed help moving large items to their new residence; a single mother and her son who needed help moving to a new apartment. The Lord weaves us together to make a difference one individual or one family at a time.

“God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present Help in times of trouble.” Psalm 46:1

A woman with young children needed help escaping a domestic violence situation.   With the aid of CMN and our network churches, we helped her secure transportation out of state.  She now has a safe place to live, has secured a job and a safe environment to raise her children.  She expressed deep appreciation to God, the Church and CMN for helping and giving her hope.

Another caller needed help returning to her home state after attending to the unexpected passing of her father.  Due to travel and funeral expenses, she did not have the funds to return to her home state.  After requesting help from several agencies, the Red Cross referred her to CMN.  Through the generosity of our network churches, CMN secured a bus ticket that took her home to her children and family.  She was grateful for God’s provision.

“For God is the One who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat.  In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.”  2 Corinthians 9:10

CMN received a call recently from a gentleman staying at Salvation Army.  He had secured a new job with a local electric company, but the job required he bring his own tools.  With your help, CMN was able to provide the necessary tools and this gentleman began his new job with renewed hope.

CMN prayed and God answered.  Re-connection fees were recently provided to a family of 5 who were without power.  Through the generosity of the CMN network churches, this family  experienced God’s provision through the Body of Christ; and God received the glory!

The Cleft of the Rock ministry helps families transition from homelessness.  CMN recently came alongside this ministry and provided them with baby furniture.
