KITCHEN OF HOPE, Kingsport, Tn

Geraldine Swagerty founded Kitchen of Hope at Full Gospel Mission Church in 1999.  They feed 150 people daily, Monday through Saturday, 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.  In order for them to continue this ministry, they need volunteers and donations including financial contributions.

For more info, read the Aug. 20, 2017, article in Kingsport Times News, email Kitchen of Hope at or visit them on Facebook.

Shades of Grace UMC

Will Shewey

Shades of Grace partners with the Hay House, a residential halfway facility on our street. Every time a new inmate arrives, they are wearing only clothes on their back. New arrivals are given a voucher to redeem full wardrobe at our closet at Shades 2. Our volunteers told me the greatest demand is for size 32-34 waist of any length. We served at least 6 men today that I am aware of. If anyone has good USED jeans to donate, please let us know. We serve female residents too.

Thank you to those that help keep the Engage House stocked with weekly needed items. Here is a list of needs for the upcoming week.

-toilet paper
-trash bags
-laundry detergent
